Behind the Scenes: KU vs. Wide — My Two Cents 💸✍️
Who asked? No one really, but here I go, anyway...
Lots of people are going back and forth (on every social media platform it seems) lately about the great KU vs. Wide debate… so here’s my take for what it’s worth (probably about two cents 😅).
Ready?
Do you.
That’s it. That’s the advice.
Seriously—this business is tough no matter which path you take. Going wide might not be right for you right now, and that’s perfectly okay. Just like being exclusive to Kindle Unlimited might not work for someone else. There’s no one-size-fits-all strategy in publishing, and anyone who tells you there is probably hasn’t been doing this long enough to see how fast things change.
You’re the only one who truly knows how to run your author business. You know your readers, your goals, your time, and your capacity. Trust that.
And here’s the part people forget: it’s okay to experiment.
You can go wide with one series and keep another in KU. Try things out. See what works. Nothing in this industry is permanent except the stories you write.
So again—just do you. Don’t stress about what everyone else says, and don’t feel pressured to pick a “side.” There’s no trophy for suffering through someone else’s strategy.
Good luck out there, authors. Whatever you choose, may your pages get read and your royalties roll in. 💕📚

P.S. Where do you stand right now? KU, Wide, or somewhere in between? I’m genuinely curious how everyone’s finding success these days—drop it in the comments!
